Il tema del divario tra nord e sud è recentemente riemerso in relazione al dibattito sul regionalismo differenziato e ad alcune iniziative del governo in carica. Il testo si sofferma su alcune risposte che le istituzioni nel corso del tempo hanno dato alla questione meridionale in una prospettiva di maggiore garanzia dei diritti fondamentali. In particolare, l’autore si sofferma sulle risposte date in Costituzione al Mezzogiorno, interpretate attraverso la lente dei principi di solidarietà, unità ed eguaglianza, ripercorrendo le fasi più significative del dibattito costituzionale sul tema a partire dai confronti in Assemblea costituente.

The theme of the gap between north and south has recently re-emerged in connection with the debate on differentiated regionalism and some initiatives of the current government. The text focuses on some answers which institutions have given over time to the southern question in a perspective of greater guarantee of fundamental rights. In particular, the author focuses on the answers which have been given in the Constitution regarding the South, interpreted through the lens of the principles of solidarity, unity and equality, retracing the most significant phases of the constitutional debate, starting from the debate in the Constituent Assembly.
